Welcome to Matthew Winslow's homepage. This is my personal page, but until I get my literature page for Fírinn.org up, this'll also have some of those essays/projects up on it.

Projects

• The Christian Realists are a Web-based group of artists (mostly writers) who are committed to a realistic expression and exploration of the greater truth of Christianity without resorting to cliché.

Organizations

• I'm a card carrying member of The Mythopoeic Society, "a non-profit international literary and educational organization for the study, discussion, and enjoyment of fantasy and mythic literature, especially the works of J.R.R. Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, and Charles Williams."

  Some of the activities I'm involved in are Butterbur's Woodshed, an amateur press association, and writing reviews for the monthly newsletter, Mythprint.

  Also associated with the Mythopoeic Society is the Mithlond Tolkien Dicussion Group. We are currently 'on hold.' If you're interested in fantasy fiction and live in the Tacoma/Seattle/Everett area, drop me a line if you'd like to start a group.

  Finally, I'm currently serving on the Council of Steward's as Secretary for Discussion Groups and Special Interest Groups. If you are interested in starting a chartered discussion group with the Mythopoiec Society, or if you would like to join an existing group, feel free to contact me.

Personal

• I work at the University of Washington as the "head" of academic publications (in other words, I and one other person comprise academic publications).
